Purim is in the air!

HAVDALAH SERVICE at 7 pm this Saturday, February 2 in Finkelstein Hall (open to ALL families) followed by our ANNUAL YOUTH GROUP SLEEPOVER for grades 4-12. If you RSVP by email, bring the sleepover permission slip with your child on Saturday evening, with a nut-free dessert (home baked or store-bought ok) and their overnight stuff. It’s a put luck dessert-but we will furnish paper goods, coffee, tea, milk, juice, and fruit salad and Sunday breakfast. Feel free to bring a friend or two!

Purimpalooza is around the corner and we need volunteers on Sunday, 2/24. It’s our
biggest fundraiser of the year and we are also asking for donations. Families in
need may request a confidential sponsorship for their child(s) all-access stamp
by emailing me privately anytime between now and Purimpalooza. Families of means
can anonymously sponsor other kids by donating to the School via cash or check
to Temple Sinai Religious School delivered to me or Co-VPs Sid and Lynne W. We
are also in need of food and prize sponsors. If you are able to sponsor other
children at $10 per child, Temple Sinai T-Shirts for others at $10 each, prizes
at $25 per donation, or food at $50 per donation, please contact me! Thanks!!!

Also for Sunday 2/3, please bring in donations for Sisterhood’s annual Purim
m’shloach manot baskets that Sisterhood and Grade 4 will be packing for Temple
Sinai members in need of our care, love, and support on 2/10. Individually
wrapped packets of dried fruit, pretzels, crackers, cookies, small juices, and
even chocolate will be greatly appreciated. Buy a case next time you are in
Costco, Sam’s Club or BJs and bring it in next weekend. This is an important
mitzvah project and the School is proud to support Sisterhood and their good

Extended Sunday School with fun and inspiring klezmer music program coming up this Sunday, 12-1:30 pm in Finkelstein. Free lunch ($3 donation encouraged for non-School members), brief kid-focused klezmer music lesson, then dancing! Look out for our student bride and groom…

Parents…try it, you’ll like it, really, don’t begrudge it. Give yourself some time to have fun with your kids and take a break from Sunday shopping, laundry, running around, and errands! It’s klezmer, the music of our people; energetic, a little silly sometimes, a little sad others, and full of Jewish soul. Listen, would I steer you wrong? Bob Weiner is a great musician (he gave us a taste at Simchat Torah, remember?) and he’s coming back for more.

Kid tested, Rabbi approved! All you need to do is RSVP to no later than Friday afternoon.
